Getting an error after uploading code to your Gamer? Not to worry! In this handy guide, we'll cover some of the most common errors and how to resolve them. Ready? Let's troubleshoot.
1. Special Libraries
If you're seeing the error:
Gamer.h: No such file or directory
This message simply means the Arduino IDE cannot see the Gamer library. Worry not! This is a super simple fix. Install our special libraries folder by following the steps below.
- Open Arduino software > Select Sketch > Include Library > Manage Libraries > Search 'Gamer' > install Gamer by Technology Will Save Us
2. Board and Ports
Make sure you have the right board selected in the Tools > Board menu. If you have an Arduino Uno, you'll need to choose it.
Then, check that the proper port is selected in the Tools > Serial Port menu (if your port doesn't appear, try restarting the Arduino program with the board connected to the computer).
- Mac - the serial port should be something like /dev/tty.usbmodem621 (for the Uno or Mega 2560) or /dev/tty.usbserial-A02f8e (for older, FTDI-based boards).
- Windows - it will be a COM port but you'll need to check in the Device Manager (under Ports) to see which one.
Still no joy? Try updating to the latest FTDI driver here - install the latest one your system, restart your computer and a new port option should appear under Tools > serial port
